Your Wedding From Our Photographer’s Lenses
For most couples, wedding photography is a very important part of the special day, as the pictures captured are some of the only physical memories of your day.
Award-winning photographer Paul Edmundson's passion for storytelling makes sure your wedding or elopement pictures will be beautiful, authentic pictures that tell your unique story and let your love shine through the lenses.
Read below to see what we take into consideration while shooting your wedding pictures.
Weather and Lighting
Unpredictable Weather: Norway’s weather can change rapidly, especially in the mountains and coastal areas. We are always prepared for rain, wind, and cold temperatures, even during the summer months.
Long summer days: In the summer we get a lot of daylight (the sky is pretty bright even in the night!) which gives us a unique opportunity to shoot in constant, soft light all night long.
Long winter nights: Conversely, in winter, we have only a few hours of light per day, and this offers a completely different type of lighting. Colder tones and a more dramatic photoshoot.
Clouds & storms: Norways has dramatic skies, and while this can make for stunning photos, it can also mean unpredictable conditions for outdoor shoots.
We are always prepared for any type of weather.
The Landscape
Varied Terrain: From fjords and mountains to glaciers, beaches, and forests, Norway offers diverse landscapes.
When we are venturing with you into remote areas, especially for hiking or wilderness shoots, we are ready for difficult terrain and we carry the right gear (sturdy boots, waterproof clothing, etc.)
Cultural Sensitivity
Respect for Nature: Norwegians have a strong connection to nature, and there’s a deep respect for outdoor spaces.
"Allemannsretten" (the right to roam) allows public access to land for hiking, but we are always respectful of private property and local regulations.
Local Customs: When photographing in small villages, we make sure to respect personal boundaries and we are aware of how we capture communities and traditions.
Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis)
Timing: Winter is the best time to photograph the Northern Lights (generally between September and March), especially above the Arctic Circle.
But we do not organise Northern lights photoshoot because of their unpredictability: this natural phenomenon can be elusive and requires clear skies and solar activity.
If you are lucky enough to have an appearance during your photoshoot - now that would be unforgettable and we will make sure to capture it.
Equipment
Weatherproof Gear: Due to the often rainy and cold climate, we make sure the camera gear is weather-sealed and we have proper protection. We bring extra batteries, just in case.
Drone Photography: Drones are a great way to capture your love story in Norway's stunning landscapes, and we are mindful of local drone regulations.
Tourism & Crowds
Popular Spots Can Get Crowded: That’s why we take you on a SUV Photoshoot adventure, so that we can capture you in your natural beauty without crowds around.
In colder seasons (autumn, winter), the fjords are less touristic and it’s even easier to capture the raw nature.
Preserving the Environment: Norway places a lot of emphasis on sustainable tourism, so we are always aware of our environmental impact—we never leave trash behind, we stick to marked trails, and don’t disturb wildlife.
We are here to always assist should you have any questions.
